F.Hoffmann-La Roche obtains a global licence for Scorpion as part of our joint collaboration begun in 2006. Scorpion is DesertSci’s groundbreaking ‘network cooperativity’ algorithm. This new methodology is the culmination of many years of development by both DesertSci and F.Hoffmann-La Roche created from the idea of Dr Neil Taylor, DesertSci’s founder. His idea stems from the concept that protein ligand interactions create network paths that stabilise the protein-ligand complex and lead to improved binding. Scorpion identifies and values this network cooperativity leading to new and powerful insights into protein-ligand binding.
