Structure Based Drug Design support for Covid-19

DesertSci is pleased to continue supporting our major pharmaceutical and biotech clients in their global research efforts into finding therapeutic treatments for Covid-19.

Since early 2020 we have applied our expertise and extended our structure based drug discovery technologies for the annotation and curation of all existing and newly released experimental X-ray and CryoEM structures of proteins from the virus that causes Covid-19, SARS-CoV-2.

Better characterisation of SARS-CoV-2 target proteins improve the chances of finding small molecule and/or protein therapeutics to help protect patients from infection, lead to faster recovery times, and prevent more serious disease.

Our software system Proasis is specifically designed for analysing protein structure data and identifying the key factors determining tight binding, for both small molecules and for biologics and is key to our support of this research .
