Proasis2 protein structure database and visualisation system Version 2007 Released

Desert Scientific Software is pleased to announce the release of the 2007 version of its flagship product, Proasis2, protein structure database and visualisation system. The 2007 version includes many new features and enhancements, including:

  • A new Symmetry Module for building and displaying symmetry molecules, molecular assemblies and crystal packing arrangements
  • Extension of the graphical visualisation tools to include PyMol
  • New searching functionality enabling combined text, substructure and date searches
  • Increased flexibility in the layout and reporting of hitlists
  • Ability to download hitlists as multiple pdb files
  • More stream-lined web-based submission pages, making it even easier to deposit structures
  • Difficult examples of protein-ligand complexes, such as multi-liganded heterodimers, can be fully handled
  • The Advanced Protein Structure Overlay Module can be easily accessed from any hitlist and now includes ligand substructure overlays in addition to the ligand similarity and sequence methods
  • More refined definitions for the Kinase and Nuclear Hormone Receptor protein classes
