Desert Scientific Software is pleased to announce important improvements in its flagship product, Proasis2,protein structure database and visualisation system. In collaboration with the current user community of global pharmaceutical companies, the following improvements have been made:
- Storage and visualisation of electron density maps
- Implementation of visualisation of structures using AstexVeiwer2 and/or Jmol
- Storage of images and connected legends
- New representation of project hierarchies enabling even faster web based browsing and searching
- Multiple binding site regions can be defined for any sequence in any pdb file in the database
- Extension of the database Tables to store additional ligand and crystallographic data
- Improved functionality in the Advanced Protein Structure Overlay Module including the handling of unclassified chains and the overlaying of all monomers in a multimeric system
- Addition of new utilities for the automated updating of multiple classification hierarchies for both in-house and public domain data
